Double Your Impact: Support Music at St. George’s

From June 1 to June 15 - thanks to an anonymous donor - donations to our St. George's music program will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a total matching amount of $2,500. This gives you a special opportunity to double your impact

Donations can be made through this Canada Helps page between June 1 and June 15.

To donate here now, please choose your donation amount and then go to the drop-down menu and select 02- Music Program.

Thank you for your donation during this special matching campaign in support of our Music Program.

Funds raised through this matching campaign will help sustain and grow the many parts of our music program by supporting choral leadership, guest musicians, instrument care, community music-making, and future opportunities for children and adult singers, here at St. George's and across the wider Niagara community.

As part of DOORS OPEN St. Catharines on Saturday, June 13th, music will fill the sanctuary on the hour between 10 am and 4 pm featuring organ, the Choir of St. George’s, and many other special musical guests.

Very exciting this year: St. George’s historic carillon will be featured in two beautiful bell concerts at 10 am and 3:30 pm, played from the church tower and heard across downtown St. Catharines. Visitors are invited to come inside the church to listen, or to pause anywhere downtown and enjoy the music of the bells as they carry across the city.

Throughout the day: Self-guided tours with stationed interpreters.

Founded in 1792, St. George’s is the oldest Anglican parish in St. Catharines and is the first established church in St. Catharines. Our congregation will celebrate its 235th anniversary next year. The grey stone church, built in 1840 and nearing the end of a recent historic restoration project, features carved stone details, beautiful stained glass, memorials from both World Wars, a magnificent pipe organ, and a rare historic carillon – one of only a small number of such tower-bell instruments across Canada – all contributing to its inspiring role as a place of prayer and worship.

Beyond its historic, architectural and cultural significance, our church plays a vital role in the community. We support a daily breakfast program, offered 365 days a year. It is in its 30th year of uninterrupted support in our community.

We look forward to welcoming everyone as part of DOORS OPEN St. Catharines 2026.

We are a joyful vital Christian community dedicated to helping our neighbours through a variety of outreach projects and social activities. St. George’s serves as a vital hub for shelter, food programs, community gatherings, and exceptional music programs for people of all ages.
