To be a community for spiritual growth that welcomes all with open doors, open hearts and open minds.
Our Sunday Worship Service:
Location: 11 Guelph Street, Georgetown (accessible parking, elevator and washrooms)
Time: Sundays @ 10:00 a.m.
Thought-provoking messages presented with projected visuals and a mix of traditional and contemporary music styles that offer strength and assurance for living in today's world. There is a children's program and nursery services during worship, and coffee hour after every service.
Our Congregational Life:
Activities and groups include: weddings and baptisms (see church website), Caring Circles, small group ministries, a strong music ministry with senior choir, a variety of guest musicians and annual concert series, and The G.A.M.E.- Children's Christian Education program. Services are held in Georgetown most of the year, with summer services and a Christmas candlelight service in the charming Glen Williams church by the Credit River.
Community outreach includes Ev's Kitchen (a free, home-cooked lunch and warm fellowship) and Food for Life, which distributes surplus perishable food at no cost.
There is also a book group, Scouting groups, a women's group, monthly men's and women's breakfasts at local restaurants, celebration and potluck dinners, weekday coffee hour, and a church library. The Glen church is also home to the Village Montessori Pre-School.
About ST JOHN'S UNITED CHURCH OF GEORGETOWN AND GLEN WILLIAMS
St. John's United Church has been a community of welcome and spiritual renewal for 175 years. We are one congregation with two locations for worship and congregational life: 11 Guelph Street, Georgetown and 533 Main Street, Glen Williams. The current members of St. John's come from many walks of life throughout Halton Hills and are building an open, vital spiritual community for today and tomorrow.
We invite you to come and experience the warmth and acceptance of our St. John's United Church family. Whether you are new to town, or have never been in our church before, you are welcome to join us to think, feel and experience God in Jesus Christ. If you find enlightenment, peace and joy, you may want to consider becoming a permanent member of our family. It's the perfect place to focus on the important things in life. Bring your questions, your concerns and your energy. God is listening and so are we!
