The purpose of the St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank is to reduce food insecurity in the St. Margaret's Bay area, (the district to be determined by Feed Nova Scotia) through the operation of a Food Bank/ Thrift Store on premises centrally located in the district. The Food Bank will be supported by the work of volunteers as much as possible.

The St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank will accept gifts of food, funds, in kind donations from individuals, businesses, schools and other organizations wishing to give support. Donated funds will be used to purchase grocery items not usually received through food drives. Donations may be assigned to meet a specific need by the donor.

To further assist in becoming self supporting, used clothing and household items will be accepted as space permits for resale on the premises or distributed to clients at no cost, as needed. Funds realized from the sale of used items will be applied to operating expenses with any profits used toward the purchase of food.

The St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank will operate as a charitable organization, in good standing with the Registry of Joint Stock Companies. Gifts, profits or accretions of the St. Margaret' Bay Food Bank shall be used to promote the objectives of the Organization.
