St Mungo's United Church is a non-profit organization that has provided religious services to a large and diverse English-speaking community in the Lower Laurentians since the congregation was first founded in about 1830. Its rich history reflects the evolution of Presbyterianism in Canada from Church of Scotland (1833-1975) to Presbyterian Church in Canada (1875-1925) to United Church (since 1925). Religious services are still offered during the summer, but the congregation wants to expand the scope of its operation and share this charming historic venue with anyone interested in community events. After an extensive restoration of the stone church built in 1836, St Mungo's is upgrading its facilities to accommodate weddings, receptions and community activities.
