About STRATHCONA BAPTIST CHURCH
Strathcona Baptist Church is an historic church in an exciting part of Edmonton. We are a few minutes away from The University of Alberta, and even closer to the heart of Whyte Avenue, the centre of Edmonton's arts and entertainment district.
We have a passion to see God's Kingdom known in the Old Strathcona area, and beyond. Part of that passion is expressed in on-going ministry with our neighbours who are experiencing homelessness. 2018 saw the beginning of the Street Outreach Mission:
The Street Outreach Mission worker focuses on fostering meaningful relationships with homeless and marginalized men and women in and around the Old Strathcona community. Recognizing that poverty takes many forms, the Street Outreach Worker recommends and connects neighbours with the supports they require for their journey toward emotional, physical, mental, relational, and spiritual wholeness.
