Walking Home Walkathon

Join us on our first annual walkathon on October 29, 2023 at 11:30AM-2:00PM

Street Haven’s Walking Home is a family-friendly walkathon to raise money and bring awareness to homeless women in Toronto, and support our essential services.

Street Haven is a multi-service women’s agency that provides shelter, supported housing, addiction treatment, and training support services for high-risk vulnerable, and homeless women in Toronto. We have the distinction of establishing Canada’s first women’s shelter services and have served tens of thousands of marginalized women in its 58-year history.  We will be joined by Members of Provincial Parliament Jess Bell (University Rosedale) and Kristyn Wong-Tam (Toronto-Centre) and Councillor Chris Moise (Toronto-Centre).

Through our essential services, we enable women towards greater independence and success:

-Serve 100,000 healthy and hot meals annually.

-Provide 27,375 nights of safe, warm, and clean shelter beds to homeless women annually.

-We provide social services and housing counseling to help women to find more secure forms of affordable housing annually.

-Treat over 60 women with addiction challenges annually.

-We provide training services in financial literacy, life skills, and employment to over 100 women annually.

-We help house over 65 women.

How to Participate

Select one of two fun ways to participate:

Walkathon Event: Street Haven will host an organized, in-person main event – complete with 2.5 km or 5km signed routes, rest stops, volunteers, and snacks at the end.

Offsite Walk: We welcome offsite fundraisers who self-organize either with friends or individually, walking on a route they choose.
