Street Sisters Society is a grassroots, 100% volunteer run organization based in Calgary that supports women and gender-diverse people facing poverty, housing instability, addiction, and the impacts of trauma. In addition to its skill-building and community-based programs, the Society conducts consistent street outreach, meeting women where they are with essential supplies, resources, and compassionate, non-judgmental support. These outreach efforts build trust and create pathways into longer-term programming and community connection. By offering low-barrier spaces grounded in lived experience, Street Sisters helps participants strengthen life skills, rebuild confidence, and move from crisis toward greater stability and resilience, contributing to safer, more connected communities overall.
