#consent is an educational play for high school students about sexual violence.
In April 2019, #consent will tour to local high schools, accompanied by a resource and information guide for teachers created by the Sexual Assault and Information Centre. There will also be multiple free public performances at the Saskatoon Public Library. Each performance will be followed by a facilitated talkback.
Using a relatable and engaging format, playwright Heather Morrison collaborated with a diverse group of artists to create a script that fills an educational gap in school’s sex education courses. #consent provides information about consent and bystander intervention, promotes healthy relationships and educates youth on prevention of sexual assault.
This is an incredibly important piece of art. By supporting #consent, you are empowering local teens with tools to establish healthy, safe relationships and knowledge to recognize inappropriate behaviour.
