We've got some great news!
The SummerWorks Board of Directors has committed to match the next $5,000 in donations up until October 1, giving us the chance to raise $10,000 in the next month. Our target for the end of the year is $25,000, so anything given in the next month will contribute significantly to the our fundraising target.
Help us reach the matching target of $5,000 this month to continue supporting artists and new ideas in performance, and be an essential part of enabling us to make the Festival more accessible for all and a place where exciting, progressive new work can flourish.
It is through donations like yours that we are able to make big changes. Every year we provide artists with performance space, technical support, access to professional development workshops, and marketing. In a change this year, we no longer charge artists the $700 registration fee that used to cover these expenses. Donations received this fall will allow us to continue removing these barriers to participation in the future.
Donations also allow us to:
- maintain free programming at our opening and closing nights
- commit to making performances more accessible, such as providing ASL at SummerWorks events
- host volunteer appreciation events for our hundreds of committed and enthusiastic volunteers
- ...and so much more!

“SummerWorks is a critical, well curated and exciting Toronto theatre and live art event that must be supported! It launches many independent artists and provides an invaluable service to the community. It allows for the development of new and exciting artistic work, outreaches to the community and...has the opportunity to extend that work globally.”
Roya Amirsoleymani, Artistic Director and Curator of Public Engagement at PICA
