Sunshine House is a community drop-in and resource centre focusing on harm reduction and social inclusion. We work to provide programming that fulfills people’s social, community, and recreational needs. Participants can come as they are, and are not expected to be “clean” or sober.
Our core programming:
DROP-IN: a twice-weekly afternoon space for community members to come in for a cup of coffee, a meal, conversation and fun activities (Monday & Wednesday, 2:00-4:30 p.m.).
LIKE THAT: a program that provides a space where people exploring gender and/or sexual identity can gather at Sunshine House for fun, skills building and recreation (Monday & Wednesday, 6:00-8:30 p.m.).
BRUNCH: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays, we provide a delicious brunch for $2 (kids under 12 are free)!
STREET FEET: Our foot care clinic that happens during drop-in times.
SCIENCE & SUPPER: On a quasi-quarterly basis, we invite the public to come to Sunshine House for a meal and presentations by scientists on a topic that relates to public health.
What People Are Saying
"In my life, all I needed was a place, association or community I can fit in and feel not discriminated, something different from what I’ve been through as a queer back home. Sunshine House gave me that kind of association. I now live in Winnipeg knowing I have a family. "
