Since 1983, the Goderich Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been helping the local community by providing those in need with food, clothing, and other supports as required. From six volunteers working two hours a week in 1983, the SVDP Goderich has grown to respond to the needs of the community. Today, there are more than 50 volunteers to provide vitally-needed programs and services six days a week.
Services include our thrift store, a house goods and furniture store, a soup kitchen, community food bank, family support services. The food bank serves over 300 people per month and the soup kitchen serves over 1,200 people per month. Catholic in character, the Society serves all people’s needs regardless of religion, race, gender, financial situation, age, or abilities.
Supporting Neighbours In Need
While much of our funding comes from the sale of donated goods at the Thrift Store and Parsons Used Furniture, we welcome donations to continue supporting our Goderich community.
