THE LIVING LANGUAGE INSTITUTE FOUNDATION IS A NON-PROFIT, CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION ESTABLISHED IN 1987.
Its purposes (amended slightly in 2016) are:
To advance education by providing courses to teach language skills, and by providing workshops on spirituality and earth stewardship.
Founders of the Living Language Institute Foundation in 1987 sought ways to develop an appreciation of Canada with special focus on the inherent richness of the many and varied languages, cultures, stories and song of its citizens — the ‘folk’ of Canada. Over the years, this learning about languages and cultures has taken three related paths.
The Foundation is guided by a Board of Directors who volunteer their time. Volunteers and contract staff manage programs and projects. Programs are financed by funding obtained through grants, donations and donations-in-kind.
