SYNAPTIC: BRIDGING THE GAP IN NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Facing a life-changing neurological diagnosis, whether it is a stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or a spinal cord injury, is a daunting experience. These conditions can strike unexpectedly, resulting in traumatic events, age-related illness, or complex lifelong disabilities. Yet, the availability and extent of the necessary rehabilitation services are often limited or inaccessible.
Founded as a registered charity in 2012, Synaptic Spinal Cord Injury & Neuro Rehab Centre is dedicated to guiding individuals on their recovery journeys. We are a charity with reserved funding to help provide financial assistance to those who need it the most. Positioned uniquely as community healthcare, we bridge the gap between public and private healthcare services.
Our 12,000 sq. ft facility, located at 120-4129 St. SE Calgary, is equipped with adaptive equipment to accommodate a wide range of physical conditions. The design of our space emphasizes abilities rather than limitations, allowing individuals to explore their physical potential in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
At Synaptic, our core values emphasize being client-centered and installing hope in both individuals and their families. We are committed to offering 360-degree support throughout their journey with us, and we provide opportunities to participate in research studies that push the boundaries of rehabilitation and recovery.
