The Tanner Steffler Foundation was established in August 2017 by John & Heather Steffler after losing their 19 year old son Tanner, to Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder. The Foundation was developed as a response to the overwhelming need for mental health and addiction services for youth 12-24 years and their families within Huron County.
The focus of the Foundation is to enhance and improve the Mental Health and Addiction resources and support networks that are in place for the youth between the ages of 12-24. Youth mental health and addiction is a broad area of concern for the entire healthcare, law and education partners and is an identified area of need within the community.
The overall goal of the Foundation is to build and sustain an evidence-based residential Youth Addiction and Mental Health Resource and Wellness Facility in Huron County.
