Out of the 450 individuals we helped this year, 90% needed bedding (several also needed beds). Goodnight Moon aims to create peace of mind, and restore dignity and hope, in the aftermath of violence and abuse. This fund is designed to provide the basic essentials for a good night's sleep to victim-survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence. Many of our clients move into empty, subsidized housing without proper bedding or blankets to keep them warm. Traumatic events and financial abuse work together to disrupt their ability to sleep soundly. They often disclose to us that they are using their clothing to sleep on the floor or pushing chairs together to make a bed. All of these scenarios are barriers to healing and progress for the women and children we support.
