The Air Force Museum Society of Alberta

about

The Air Force Museum Society of Alberta is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to preserving and sharing Canada’s air force and military aviation history. Located in Calgary at The Military Museums, we support the Air Force Museum of Alberta through aircraft and artifact preservation, exhibit development, and public education.

Our mission is to educate, inspire, and honour the service of Canadian airmen and airwomen by telling the story of the Royal Canadian Air Force from its early beginnings through the Cold War and into the modern era. We engage visitors through professionally developed museum exhibits, guided tours, school programs, and community outreach that connect aviation history, technology, and national defence.

A key focus of our work is the expansion of the Cold War exhibit, highlighting Canada’s role in air defence, NORAD, and NATO. Donations support artifact restoration, exhibit construction, educational programming, and the long-term sustainability of the museum.

Through strong governance, dedicated volunteers, and community partnerships, the Air Force Museum Society of Alberta ensures that Canada’s air force heritage is preserved, accessible, and meaningful for future generations.
