At The Alex, we see the whole story of health. The Alexandra Community Health Centre (The Alex) provides wrap-around health care, housing, social, and wellness programs to more than 15,000 of Calgary’s most vulnerable community members each year. Using a client-centered, multi-disciplinary model of care, The Alex offers the right care, at the right time, at no cost to clients. With five decades of experience innovating and working in the community, The Alex tackles tough health and social issues by walking alongside people on their journey from crisis to wellness. The Alex serves people with complex health and social challenges who face poverty, trauma, exploitation, violence, housing instability, social isolation, food insecurity, and addiction. The Alex offers over 20 programs aligned with our mantra: Health. Home. Humanity. The Alex operates three health centres which include medical clinics and social spaces serving families, youth, and seniors; a mobile dental program; two mobile health programs (community and youth focus); a Community Food Centre and Community Kitchen; and four Housing First programs. The Alex envisions a healthy and caring community where everyone is valued and can thrive. Our mission is to improve quality of life through accessible and integrated health, housing, and social services.
