Our official name is The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals, but we’re known to many as The Fur-Bearers.

Our mission is simple, yet deeply impactful:

1. To protect the environment by preserving both urban and rural ecosystems, and the wildlife that depends on them.

2. To advance public education about wildlife protection and conservation.

3. To uphold and strengthen animal welfare laws by keeping an eye on commercial fur farms and other industries that use fur-bearing animals. We focus on ensuring they follow the law, and we work with the public to uncover any violations.

4. To do whatever it takes to support these goals and help make the world a better place for wildlife.
