Thousands of Holocaust survivors and vulnerable seniors in Toronto’s Jewish community are going hungry. Since 2020, the Bernard Betel Centre has been feeding seniors through our kosher Meals on Wheels program. But funding is running out. How can we let our survivors go hungry -- or worse -- die?
Without the Meals on Wheels program, these seniors might go days without eating, and for many seniors, receiving these meals is the only human contact they have in a week.
Last year the Bernard Betel Centre delivered 155,683 meals to the community, BUT we can’t support these seniors alone. We need your help. We urgently need your help to raise $25,000 by December 31 to provide close to 1,800 meals to seniors living in poverty in the community.
