The Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies is pleased to announce a national fundraising campaign dedicated to offering education funding opportunities to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women including a legal defense fund for criminalized women. We will be launching our trailblazers nationally on Monday May 6, to start of Elizabeth Fry Week and we will be showcasing them throughout the week through social and traditional media.
The campaign is seeking 10 Trailblazing Women who will recruit 10 women to donate $100 each. Our 10 Trailblazers will be featured on our website and media platforms and will be recognized with a formal appreciation gift on behalf of CAEFS. All monies donated will be placed in CAEFS bursary fund which provides education bursaries in the amount of $500 to formerly incarcerated women in Canada. In addition, a portion of the donations will be set aside in the Women’s Legal Defense Fund which provides financial assistance for national cases to promote systemic change or individual women’s cases that are being supported by the national office.
For more information, to donate or to become a Trailblazer contact Kassandra Churcher, Executive Director at 613-238-2422 or firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our website at www.caefs.ca
