The Canadian Writers' Foundation was established in 1931 and strives to build the capital fund through donations, bequests and in memoriam tributes in order to continue giving a helping hand to Canadian writers in need.

The Canadian Writers' Foundation is a registered charity that grants continued financial assistance to some of Canada's finest writers in times of extreme financial distress. Names of recipients are held in confidence while the author is still living.
