Our Mission
Our goal is to assist impoverished communities in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania by providing funding for small, sustainable, capital projects related to Health, Education, Water and Sanitation and Agriculture so to improve the quality of life and health and raise their standard of living.
About The CanAssist African Relief Trust
Infrastructure projects may be chosen from applications received from East African communities and monitored by a committee of volunteer CanAssist trustees. Communities will be invited to submit application for funding based on their needs and be responsible for regular reporting during and on completion of any project we adopt.
Our work supports all members of a community rather than focusing on individuals or programs. ( i.e. We build classrooms rather than giving school fees for a selected child. We provide clinic equipment, not funds for salaries or programs at a hospital.)
We have no political or religious affiliation. We work with schools, hospitals, women's groups, youth groups and other community organizations. Since 2008 we have funded over $1 million CAD in projects in East Africa.
