Chalmers Foundation
The Chalmers Foundation raises funds to support healthy, caring communities by enhancing health and well-being through innovative and effective programs and initiatives. Established in 1983, the Chalmers Foundation is based in Fredericton, NB, and supports the Horizon Health Network's Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, community health centers throughout the region, and Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation.
The Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation
The Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation (SCCR), established in 1957, is a provincial specialty, tertiary, Centre of Excellence equipped and staffed to treat the most complex neurological conditions. These conditions include stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and neuromuscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy, ALS and cerebral palsy.
The Centre also provides treatment for the most complex forms of autism spectrum disorder. The Centre treats people of every age-in both official languages-across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island as well as complex paediatric clients from Nova Scotia. Over 1800 clients (both inpatient and outpatient) are served by SCCR each year.
