Grounded in the past. Looking to the future.
Established in 1998, The Christie Gardens Foundation is the charity arm of Christie Gardens. Year–round fundraising efforts raise money to support our Benevolent Fund and our Capital Campaign.
In 2020, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and the extraordinary strain on our frontline teams, we established our Staff Care Fund.
In September 2022, we created our Inspire Scholarship. Inspire was developed to encourage Christie Gardens staff and their families to pursue continuing education in fields related to elder care.
In May 2025, we announced the Grace Sweatman Education Fund. Named for Grace Sweatman, the late CEO of Christie Gardens and President of this Foundation. Grace Sweatman was a lifelong champion for hands-on learning and continuing education. This fund was established to support an exciting new initiative at Christie Gardens: the Christie Gardens Academy! We are excited to support the development of Christie Gardens' in-house school for Personal Support Workers.
