For over 15 years, The Veterans Memorial Park has provided ceremonies for Holocaust Remembrance, The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, The International Day of Peace and Remembrance Day. These ceremonies and the black granite monuments remember the sacrifices and service of Veterans and Serving Members of all Canadian Armed Forces, including the RCMP, the Non-combatants and The Forgotten Heroes of war, the animals. Commemorative Benches remember the sacrifices of those left waiting at home. The Broken monument remembers those changed by the theatre of war and the Transformation monument shows us a path to peace. Three intersecting gardens: the Garden of Sorrows; the Garden of Remembrance and the Garden of Hope mirror the Park's mission statement of Education, Remembrance and Peace. The Park is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers. The Park's work is supported by grants from Veterans Affairs Canada and the Municipal and Provincial Governments and by generous contribution from donors like you.
