The Creemore Community Foundation was founded in late 2018 to strengthen and enhance the cultural, heritage and beauty of our wonderful village of Creemore in the Township of Clearview. We firmly believe that in order to build a healthy and sustainable community, we need to invest in the facilites and organizations that provide community strength.
Our village is almost 180 years old with some magnificent heritage architecture on its main street. Our local community of 1127 people is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is populated with a combination of the farmers and country homeowners. All these communities care deeply about the health, prosperity and beauty of our village of Creemore.
Creemore has a huge, aging volunteer community that has created successful arts and cultural events for many years; but the amount of financial support for these organizations has been very limited. The Foundation was formed to enable everyone from our community to support broadly the needs in our village in a tax efficient manner. One of our primary goals is to bring together various communities, local residents, farmers, and country homeowners to create ‘one’ strong community that will help strengthen businesses in Creemore, as well as, the health and enjoyment of its residents.
The first Foundation project of community building is to construct, in partnership with the Township of Clearview, the new ‘Creemore Village Green’. The goal of building this new park is to create a wonderful community gathering space. This will allow the residents and visitors to Creemore the opportunity to visit our new Creemore Horticultural Society garden, as well as enjoy concerts and many different events that will help create a new vibrancy in our community and support the businesses on Mill Street. The opportunity to pursue this project was created by the generosity of the Toronto Dominion Bank in donating their property on Mill Street to the Foundation.
