About THE DINOSAUR VALLEY HERITAGE SOCIETY
The Dinosaur Valley Heritage Society maintains the East Coulee School Museum in East Coulee, Alberta. The museum is a former 11 room school built in 1930 and opened as a museum in 1985. It has Recognized Museum status from Alberta Museums Association. Entering the museum is like stepping into another world. Former classrooms exhibit school life and life in the once-booming coal mining town of East Coulee. Also there is a gift shop and a cafe where daily specials are listed on the classroom’s blackboard. School groups and tour groups can take part in the "Miss Morrison" program - an interactive class program from 1936. The museum operates on grants, donations and fundraisers like SpringFest, a two day music festival in May
