Phase #1 Purchase: Over the last year, we have been able to access more food for our clients, but the ability to store and safely handle this surplus food has become a strain on our present building and infrastructure. With the purchase of this new property, we will be able renovate and expand to have more storage capacity, safely handle temperature sensitive foods, and gain access to more food product to distribute to those within Dryden and surrounding area that struggle with food insecurity.

This project will also benefit Dryden and the region by helping to meet the city of Dryden’s Community and Safety and Wellbeing Plan. The City of Dryden, the Kenora District Services Board, the Northwestern Health Unit, and other community partners are working together to build awareness about homelessness in Dryden and region. 

In Phase #1, we need to raise $250,000 to help complete the purchase of the buildings and land. A capital campaign has commenced, and we are asking the citizens, service groups, businesses, corporations, churches, municipal and provincial governments to join with us to help us continue to meet our mandate. We will also be applying for as many grants that are available to help in Phase #1.
