KidSport is a local non-profit organization that has been in the game since 1995, proudly making the assist to get kids off the sidelines and into the game through our ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’ Grant Program. This in turn helps provide youth with the opportunity to gain the positive benefits that are received through participation in organized sport - creating opportunities that they wouldn't otherwise have.

The Grant Program is based off a qualifying application process for boys and girls, aged 18 and under who live and play in Edmonton. Once qualified, each qualified kid receives up to $250 to put towards their registration fees. 

KidSport Is About Kids… Success will be measured by the number of children who have been helped as a result of KidSport’s initiatives.

KidSport Is About Fun… The primary goal of children’s sport programming is that each child should have so much fun that they can’t wait to play again next season!

KidSport Is About the Future… All kids should be given the opportunity to develop healthy lifestyles, no matter the financial, physical or language barriers that may exist. Staying physically active helps encourage children to maintain healthy habits throughout their whole lives. The challenges that come with playing sports also teach children valuable life lessons and skills including leadership, practice, hard work, dedication and self-confidence.

This Is How It’s Done…

• Raising funds to provide sport opportunities for kids facing financial barriers
• Promoting the KidSport mission to other communities with a view to create strategic alliances to support sport participation and physical opportunities for kids
• Advocating the importance of all kids having access to sport programs and supporting the value and benefit of kids playing sport in the pursuit of lifelong health and wellness
