New Jubilee Conservation Land Fund

The fund supports the monitoring of a conservation easement on New Jubilee Conservation Land by the Edmonton and Area Land Trust (EALT), a registered charity that conserves nature in Edmonton and area and engages people and communities in land conservation and stewardship.

New Jubilee Conservation Land contains one of the largest remaining tracts of old-growth forest within the City of Edmonton, making it a key habitat for a diversity of wildlife. The conservation easement protects 73 acres of intact native habitat that is home to deer, moose, coyotes, and over 90 bird species. It also protects 17 acres of agricultural lands, which are home to Lady Flower Gardens, a local non-profit and social justice garden that connects disadvantaged Edmontonians with agricultural experiences and fresh produce.

“The conservation easements will ensure that these unique lands, within Edmonton’s city limits, are protected so the combination of special characteristics will always be here to help people learn how to live sustainability with the land and each other, now, and for time immemorial. We are grateful for the ethic of land stewardship handed down from our parents. We thank ELAT, and all who shared this vision to conserve these lands now and forever.” -- Doug Visser

Your donation to this endowment fund will help EALT monitor the conservation easement that protects the farmlands and forests of New Jubilee Conservation Land.
