Statement of Purpose
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Northeastern Ontario (E FRY NEO) is dedicated to confronting the effects of criminalization and incarceration and in particular the circumstances of women and gender diverse people in the criminal justice system.
About Us
E FRY NEO strives:
• To provide support services and practical assistance to criminalized or at-risk individuals, with a particular focus on women and gender diverse people.
• To assist our service users with overcoming barriers to reintegration, and to build stable, resilient lives with appropriate support networks.
• To advocate with and for people who are incarcerated, in the court system and in the community through a human rights and equity perspective.
• To promote alternatives to incarceration while advocating for systemic change.
• To promote community awareness regarding inequality and the oppressive social conditions that contribute to people becoming criminalized.
