The Erika Legacy Foundation was created in honour of Erika Elkington who died by suicide at the age of 29, one month before her 30th birthday. Our foundation raises funds to support research and program development in the fields of suicidology, body and brain science, psychology and technology as it relates to suicide and mental health. We hope by engaging people and communities, we can build an endowment that remains in perpetuity.
Our mission is to:
- Increasing awareness of suicide and the impact it has on our societies.
- Support research and study the social, personal and economic conditions that lead to suicide using those findings to implement effective approaches to suicide prevention.
- Inspire hope, resiliency and a reason for living.
