Our vision is a community of empowered women.
We believe that encouraging and educating women and girls, especially war-affected immigrants and refugees, will garner the skills, confidence, and emotional wellness they need to succeed. We envision boosting women's ability to support themselves.
TEEC has two chapters one in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and Bor, Jonglei, South Sudan, both aim toward helping and empowering women and children.
(TEEC) strives to assist the war-affected newcomers and immigrants including refugee women and children to garner the skills and confidence required to attain “success” in Canada. TEEC also strives to train the war-affected women, youth, and children in South Sudan to gain skills that will help them to succeed and become self-employed.
Success is defined as the state of employable skills participants require to achieve their goals. TEEC supports women children, and immigrants as they navigate ways to find work and overcome challenges related to trauma caused by war and strife in their home countries. We replicate this support to women and Children in Bor Jongiel state in South Sudan.
Mission Statement: To offer programming to war-affected newcomers and immigrants including refugees, especially women/ children and youths, to acquire employment and overall wellness in Canada. To open a tailoring skill training Centre for women and girls in South Sudan to help them become self-employed.
Our Goals in Canada:
- Open a drop-in centre for Newcomer immigrants and refugees
- Provide a safe space that allows participants to express their feelings without fear of repercussions or judgment
- Provide healing and social support
- Provide access to information, education, and support services
- Increase computer literacy by providing computer skill workshops
- Keyboarding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Provide Sewing classes to gain marketable skills within the workforce.

- Provide space for recreational and cultural activities to promote and enhance emotional and mental wellness
- Provide space that will foster community building through activities such as beading, dancing, cooking, storytelling, and arts and crafts among others
Priorities:
- TEEC provides Basic English classes (reading, writing, and speaking) in order for participants to improve their communication skills.
- Improving communication skills increases the potential for participants to access better opportunities as well as efficiently navigate systems utilizing English as their official language

Our Vision in South Sudan: We are working to cultivate a vision of peace and well-being in a country ripped apart by war. The main purpose is to enable marginalized, disadvantaged groups especially at-risk women and children with deficiencies in learning and reading to improve their skills so that they can succeed in order to become self-reliant in their everyday life in South Sudan.
Mission in South Sudan: To offer programming to enable women and children to gain employment skills and mental wellness.
- To advance education and relieve poverty of women and children
- Provide English, mathematics, computer and literacy classes, and employment skills training in sewing and tailoring
Goals and priorities in South Sudan include:
- Literacy, empowerment, and training for women and children to gain financial independence;
- An elder circle for counseling to break the age-old practice of silence and to foster mutual support.
- Establish a network of support to provide basic needs such as food, child care, Wellness health and peacebuilding;
- Promote early childhood development awareness
