FNTI is an Indigenous-owned and governed post-secondary institute founded in 1985 on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, located on the beautiful Bay of Quinte. With 40 years of experience in delivering Indigenous programming rooted in Indigegogy and Indigenous ways of knowing, the Institute offers an accessible and culturally relevant post-secondary education path forward for Indigenous students. Visionary leadership continues to develop innovative programming and provide opportunities for learners to uphold ancestral traditions while creating foundations for future generations.
FNTI is a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization, accredited by the Indigenous Advanced Education and Skills Council (IAESC).
FNTI's Indigenous post-secondary education programs are culturally-driven and delivered in intense professional mode, which provides learners with the ability to study rigorous, culturally relevant programming while maintaining family, community and career commitments. Students experience transformative learning experiences built on a foundation of #IndigenousKnowledge.
FNTI has served 189 communities across Canada, and 113 communities in Ontario. The institute welcomes approximately 500 students annually. Success rates from 2018-present show a 98% employment rate and 99% graduation rate across all programs.
FNTI provides certificate, diploma and degree credentials, with responsive education aligned with the needs and requests of students and their communities.
In September 2024 the new, nationally accredited Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work was launched. The next Bachelor program to launch is the Bachelor of Indigenous Justice. More programs accredited by IAESC will follow.
