Donations to our 4 funds assist us in the following ways:

Garage to Greatness - Nature Centre Renovation Fund

The Friends of Presqu'ile Park are launching a project to revitalize the Nature Centre at Presqu'ile Provincial Park. Part of that project will be to transform the garage into a 4-season classroom where educational nature programming can be delivered in cold or inclement weather. The classroom can also be used as a meeting room or a space for adult education classes. https://www.friendsofpresquile.on.ca/garage-to-greatness

25th Anniversary Environmental Fund

To celebrate its 25 years of support to the Park, The Friends created this fund to provide a dependable long-term source of funds to preserve and restore the environmental ecology at Presqu'ile Provincial Park. Funding will be available for countering the devastating effects of invasive and non-native species, supporting efforts to preserve habitat, and supporting research into the flora and fauna unique to Presqu'ile so that we can be better custodians of our natural heritage.  Learn more here:  https://www.friendsofpresquile.on.ca/25th-anniversary-environmental-fund.php

Memorial Tree Planting

***Donors to this fund must also fill out the form on our website in order to plant a tree:  https://www.friendsofpresquile.on.ca/memorial-tree-planting.php ***

The Friends of Presqu'ile Park are pleased to provide the public with an opportunity to plant a tree in Presqu’ile Provincial Park to honour someone special, to remember a loved one, or to mark a milestone event. Donors will make a minimum donation of $100 and will receive an income tax receipt for the full amount.  A deciduous (eg. maple) or coniferous (eg. pine) tree can be chosen, based on availability.  Trees planted will come from the park’s own nursery, grown from seeds collected in Presqu’ile.  The trees planted will help regenerate Presqu’ile’s forest. During the third weekend in April and the third weekend in October, memorial trees will be planted in the presence of the donors.  Tree planting will be performed by park staff, who will choose the planting location.  As the memorial trees will be part of a natural forest, they will not be labelled and they will not be replaced if they die.

General Fund

Monies are directed where needed to assist with projects such as improving park facilities, providing educational programming or hiring summer students.
