Some of you may be asking - why would a bird need toys? They just sing, fly, and preen, right?
Wrong! Birds are very smart, very long-lived creatures (Cocoa, one of our African Greys, is 60 years old!) Just like children, these feathered Hamiltonians are smart and playful and they need a lot of stimulation to keep them engaged and healthy.
This means lots of toys that they can chew on and pick apart, and new perches to change their environment. We have a lot of birds and it can get pricey purchasing toys for them - the average toy is 10-15$! This is especially because most bird toys are destructible, which means we need new ones all the time. Every contribution will go directly towards providing our feathered friends with the toys and perches they need.
We will spread the joy by posting pictures and videos of the birds playing with their new toys. Thank you so much for your donation! All of the birds and all of us from the Hamilton Friends of the Aviary appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
