Our vision: A community that loves, and is transformed by it.
Our mission: Church Out Serving is a faith-based care network whose focus is to "love our neighbours." We do this with our actions, serving in practical ways, drawing together people who are committed to making a difference in our community.
Our charitable projects include: The Gathering Food Gardens, Emergency Meal Program, First Serving Dinners, We Believe in Simcoe, and our newest: Riversyde 83.
The Gathering Food Gardens is a community-building food-security initiative. We gather together to grow produce for our neighbours who have limited access to fresh, healthy food. The gardens are currently located at 3 sites, and the harvests supply local meal programs, teaching kitchens and food banks.
The Emergency Meal Program prepares and preserves healthy meals for people who are unable to cook for themselves and their families, due to homelessness or other life crisis.
First Serving Dinners is a free community meal served weekly in Simcoe's downtown.
We Believe in Simcoe offers an annual Activity Fair filled with free shopping, services, games, prizes and local resources to local residents living with poverty.
Riversyde 83 will be a gathering place, where food, friends, wellness and local converge. Upon the completion of the planned renovations, this former LCBO building in downtown Simcoe will be the new home of our community teaching kitchen, café, marketplace, information hub and meeting space.
