Grande Prairie and Area Council on Aging (GPACA) is a non-profit organization who was established in 1982. We support Seniors and their Care Givers through an array of programs, resources and community connections. We are located in Grande Prairie, Alberta, our services and support dominantly support those in the City of Grande Prairie, the County of Grande Prairie, the MD of Greenview and in essence geography doesn't matter if someone is reaching out for support we will respond. We offer an array of programs; Seniors Outreach - ensuring all benefits are in order and assistance with any other life details including connecting with additional community support partners. Meals on Wheels - we offer a hot lunch each weekday delivered right to your door by volunteers, as well as a frozen food option where orders are taken once a week and delivered once a week by volunteers. We also offer Elder Abuse Awareness and Support - we support anyone who is a victim of abuse, their caregivers as well as the abuser. Outcomes are aimed to support each person in the situation to understand their options, support services and options for change to have a safer, healthier life situation. We offer a program called Yard Gnomes - Supporting Seniors Every Season with grass cutting and snow removal, we offer a year round tax clinic and Seniors Socials which are led by our Seniors as to what speakers or activities they would like to learn from or about. We continue to build programming to meet the needs of our seniors in little ways such as Grama's Garden where we share plants and learn from one another about how to care and nurture each. We take a holistic approach to all areas of our work to support seniors to thrive in all ways of well being and independence.
