To foster a sense of community, inclusion, and personal achievement through choral excellence, outreach, and a diverse repertoire in a safe and nurturing environment.
About Us
We are a friendly, auditioned chamber choir of 30-35 people from many different backgrounds. We sing music from medieval to modern in a variety of languages, and often include compositions or arrangements by local composers. Our season runs from September to the beginning of June and includes 3 main concerts. We also engage in outreach ventures and occasional tours.
The choir employs a professional Artistic Director with a paid accompanist and section leaders. Rank and file members pay dues and donate to support an exciting and fulfilling choral experience. The formal name of the group is "The Greater Vancouver Vivaldi Chamber Choir Society". We aim to make our community accessible through support to pay dues, and tiered ticketing.
By supporting professional soloists from time to time and offering employment to orchestral musicians in accompanying ensembles, the "Society" seeks to advance the appreciation of choral music, and contribute to the well-being of music and arts in the community.
