Our Mission
As a volunteer-based organization, the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival Association works with performing arts educators to develop artistic skills and foster a love of the performing arts for all ages and skill levels in music, dance and speech arts. We are dedicated to providing an opportunity for child, youth, and adult performer to showcase their artistic talents, receive guidance from professional adjudicators, inspire and engage with other performers, and give back to their families, teachers, and community supporters.
About THE GREATER VICTORIA PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION
Founded in 1927, the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival occurs annually over a six-week period from late March until early May. It provides an opportunity for students of all ages and skill levels to sing, play instruments, recite, and dance before skilled national and international adjudicators.
Exceptional performers are then given the opportunity to perform at special highlights concerts where we celebrate the participation, achievement, and excellence of our young performers. Those selected by adjudicators receive monetary awards to not only help further their artistic endeavors, but to motivate participation in the arts and reward excellence.
