The Guelph Giants Special Hockey Foundation is dedicated to encourage, empower and enable athletes with an intellectual disability to participate in an inclusive hockey program.

About The Guelph Giants Special Hockey Foundation

The Guelph Giants Special Hockey Foundation is a program composed of intellectually disabled athletes and we are entering our 20th season in 2026 with over 40 athletes registered. Giants’ players are given the opportunity to play and be a part of a hockey team regardless of disability, gender or even their ability to skate. This team endeavours to give a sense of community involvement to persons who in the past only been able to watch from the sidelines. The experience gives the players a chance to form close & important friendships with their peers and permits them to develop self-esteem & sportsmanship that would not have otherwise been possible. Our players are able to develop at their own rate with the help of a very dedicated group of volunteer coaches that emphasize fun while learning. We rely primarily on donations to keep the team operating & all funds go directly to the program; our coaches, executive, and organizers are volunteers and donate their time for the good of the players.
