THE GUELPH JAZZ FESTIVAL

about

The Guelph Jazz Festival is a non-profit arts organization in Guelph, Ontario, dedicated to presenting impressive and unconventional live music. Through concerts, educational programs, and free community events, we celebrate diverse talent and make creative music accessible to all. As one of the only festivals in Canada dedicated to improvisatory and experimental music, we offer audiences a truly unique and innovative musical experience.

Each year, we organize a vibrant three-day festival in Downtown Guelph during the second weekend of September, which attracts thousands of attendees. The festival features:

Market Square Stage – A free outdoor concert series held on Friday and Saturday, offering dynamic performances in the heart of the city.

Low-Cost Ticketed Concerts – Showcasing world-class improvisatory and creative music in venues across Downtown Guelph.

Jazz Around Town – Local establishments come alive with live jazz performances, supporting local businesses and bringing music into everyday spaces.

Free Arts and Music Workshops – Interactive, multidisciplinary workshops that invite community members to explore music, dance, and other art forms.

Colloquium – In collaboration with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation, we bring together scholars, artists, presenters, and the public for meaningful dialogue and connection.

Over the years, the Guelph Jazz Festival has presented hundreds of remarkable artists, including recent notable acts like Darius Jones, TEKE::TEKE, Witch Prophet, and Rob Mazurek, to an audience of thousands each year.

The Guelph Jazz Festival 2025 will take place from September 12 - 14.
