Harbhajan lost his long battle with alcohol use disorder in 2015. As a family, we encountered many hurdles and challenges in our efforts to find help. Mental health and addiction remain misunderstood and stigmatized, particularly among the Punjabi community, leaving many families and individuals who are seeking help feeling isolated.  The experiences of our family are not uncommon and we believe all individuals and their families should have access to the supports they need.

That’s why we started the Harbhajan Ranauta Legacy Foundation. We award annual scholarships to post-secondary graduate students working towards the expansion of culturally relevant and community-specific mental health and addictions support services in the South Asian community. With your help, we can foster the development of a future in which addiction is better understood and more accessible support and services are readily available.
