The Interchurch Refugee Group (IRG) is an ecumenical coalition of five churches located in the east end of Ottawa, ON.  Since 1989 we have been sponsoring government-approved refugees, supporting their integration into Canadian society and facilitating their transition towards self-sufficiency.  The Interchurch Refugee Group is powered entirely by volunteers from our supporting churches and the wider community. In addition to hands-on settlement support, we provide financial support for sponsored families and individuals for their first year in Canada.  

To date, we have supported 31 refugee sponsorships of families and individuals, from around the world. At this time, our dedicated team of nearly two dozen volunteers is fundraising, waiting and praying for the safe arrival of two more sponsorships.
