The Irricana & Rural Municipal Library's Mission is: "Your place to learn, connect, grow, play and stay". Our library contributes to the well-being and health of our community by providing information, supporting literacy and bringing people together.
One-Stop Access to serve the community. The Irricana & Rural Library is a welcoming space that helps our community build successful enterprises; both business and non-profit, support community connections and is working to create empowered children and youth through early childhood development services.
Our continued partnerships with Community Links, Rocky View employment services and Alberta health services has allowed the Irricana and Rural residents access to family health services, resources, learning opportunities, counselling services, community connections and entertainment.
Our purpose is to provide library services to the residents of Irricana (1,216) and the surrounding rural population (1,087). Library Services includes but is not limited to: checking library materials in and out, shipping and receiving library materials from across Alberta as part of TRAC and Melibraries, providing programming for all ages in a wide variety of topics, offer the public access to free public space (with free internet and Wi-Fi) and providing access to enough quality, professional, knowledgeable, friendly staff to best serve our public. Libraries are a space for all. All library services and programming are free to the public. We are a charitable organization dedicated to enriching lives and building community by ensuring universal access to resources for information, learning, inspiration and enjoyment. We work very hard to create an environment in which patrons have fun and enjoy what we offer. We support and build literacy, create community connections, and provide cultural experiences in our community which goes toward making our community stronger, healthier and more resilient. Libraries are essential to communities.
