Our History
Founded in 1931 in the United States and in 1936 in Canada, The Jack Miner Migratory Bird Foundation was created to preserve and advance Jack Miner’s pioneering work in wildlife conservation. Today, the Foundation operates as a charitable organization sustained entirely by grants and the generosity of private and corporate donors. Our Board of Directors and staff oversee all operations and remain committed to stewarding the Sanctuary’s mission and legacy.
Jack’s Sanctuary Today
The Sanctuary now spans more than 400 acres of diverse and ecologically significant habitat. We continue to honour Jack Miner’s vision by protecting wildlife, restoring and conserving natural landscapes, and offering meaningful, accessible educational experiences that connect people with nature.
