The Joyriders mission is the enhancement of the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of children and adults with disabilities through various forms of therapeutic riding. Over 100 riders have benefitted from our programs since our inception in 1979, with over 700 volunteers helping them reach for the sky.
It costs $150 per rider per lesson to provide top-quality services to our clients, including maintaining our nationally certified instructors and accredited centre, facility rental, special equipment, and the care of our special therapy horses. We subsidize 90% of these costs for our clients, and we think they are worth every penny!
We rely solely on individual and corporate donations and agency grants. All donations go directly to support our programs, ensuring we can continue to provide the benefits that come with therapeutic riding. Thank you so much for your generosity!
Our Operating (General) Fund supports the care of our special therapy horses, rental of the customized riding arena, purchase of special equipment for horse and rider, maintaining our national centre accreditation and instructor certification, and other expenses essential to the safety and enjoyment of our riders, horses, and volunteers.
The Andy Robb Robb Memorial Partnership for Sustainability is an emergency sustaining fund inaugurated in 2021 in memory of a very special, long-standing supporter of the Joyriders.
