Our mission is to develop, demonstrate and advocate for a regenerative farming system that mitigates climate change, fosters healthy ecosystems and communities, and improves farmer livelihoods.

What We Do

The New Farm Centre develops, demonstrates and advocates for regenerative farming practices. We are farmer-led, and work with farmers, consumers, governments, corporate leaders and changemakers to ensure that agriculture is part of the solution to climate change. We promote action at three distinct scales:

Farm

The centre is located on a working organic farm where food is grown using the full suite of regenerative practices. We develop and test new practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, sequester carbon in our soils, increase biodiversity, and improve soil health. We convene farmers and non-farmers for educational tours, events and training to accelerate climate action in agriculture. 

Community

We work with farmers and landowners in the community around Creemore, Ontario to increase adoption of regenerative farming practices. We foster healthy communities and address food insecurity by donating fresh, nutrient dense vegetables and protein grown on the farm to good food organisations in southern Ontario.

Canada

We develop practical, farmer-centric, science-based policy proposals for climate change mitigation and adaptation. We support progressive farm organizations and work together to ensure that governments and corporations recognize farmers as a vital part of the solution to climate change.
