Vision Statement: Heart of the Community, Key to the World
Mission Statement: To enrich, inspire and empower the community by providing space and resources to stimulate curiosity and innovation, life-long learning, community connection and leisure pursuits in a safe, welcoming environment.
The Okotoks Public Library has been a fixture of the Okotoks community since 1977! We've come a long way from the tiny little room on main street, first moving to our current location in 1990 and then expanding (to almost double the size!) in 2005. We are a member of the Marigold Library System and a part of the resource sharing mechanism of TRAC which is Alberta wide. We are proud to serve the Town of Okotoks and the surrounding MD of Foothills.
Our Board is working toward a future library expansion. Our last library expansion was in 2005. Since that time, the population of Okotoks has increased by 69%. Therefore, our library needs to grow so that we can continue to provide exemplary service and resources. Our Vision may be viewed in the library or at www.okotokslibrary.ca
We have developed a fundraising campaign titled “Come Grow With Us”. As part of that campaign, we are asking for people to consider contributing to that expansion with a donation. Donations of any amount are appreciated, but donations of $100 or more will result in the name(s) of the businesses or individuals—with their permission—being placed on our “Wall of Fame” which will be developed shortly.
All donations of $20 or more will receive a receipt for tax purposes upon request. Donations may also be given in memory or honour of someone, and donations make unique Christmas gifts. Donations may be made through the donate button online at www.okotokslibrary.ca, at the library or by mail.
