Our Mission
The Remix Project is a multidisciplinary arts training organization dedicated to strengthening the creative community by supporting the next generation of industry leaders. Focused on each student’s personal and professional development, Remix was created to help level the playing field for talented young people who face barriers in pursuing careers in arts and entertainment.
Our Programs
Remix offers professional arts training to young creative Canadians in our permanent home at Daniels Waterfront City of the Arts, a 5,000-sq.-ft. training facility that includes an industry-standard recording studio, DJ lab, performance space, boardroom, collaborative workspace, photography studio, and post-production suite. Approximately 55 students/year enroll in one of three nine-month programs and specialize in one of 12 disciplines: Recording Arts (Artist Development, DJ-ing, Production, Sound Engineering); Creative Arts (Graphic Design, Photography, Visual Storytelling, Visual Arts); and Business (Music Business, Fashion Business, Sports Business, Public Relations). Each student works with their program manager to develop a personalized curriculum, through which they progress while collaborating with other students both within and across programs. Remix’s core program consists of daily work/studio sessions, bi-weekly classes, monthly workshops, field trips, and industry mentorship. Students complete the program having significantly improved their knowledge; skills; confidence; economic empowerment; personal, artistic, and professional development; and employment readiness.
